A mature tree has crashed down into a York river today (Sunday).
These pictures from York Rescue Boat show the large tree after it fell across the River Foss.
It is close to the junction between Huntington Road and Heworth Green.

One of the rescue boat volunteers went to investigate after reports came in of the tree fall.
They have alerted both City of York Council and the Environment Agency.
They posted on social media: “There is due to be a lot of rain over the next 24 hours so we will be keeping an eye on this location.”
A yellow warning for rain has been issued by the Met Office for tomorrow.
