Ten fire appliances were sent to a serious house fire in a picturesque North Yorkshire village last night (Monday).
They were called at 8.50pm to the blaze on Briar Hill, Danby.
The flames spread to neighbouring properties.

Crews used jets and an ariel ladder platform appliance to put out the fire. The electricity board also isolated the power lines connected to the affected property.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews evacuated all neighbouring properties and police assisted with ensuring all occupants had a relocated to a place of safety whilst the incident was ongoing.
“After the fire was extinguished, the incident was scaled back to two appliances and an ariel ladder platform throughout the night for further hotspotting.”
later in an update, they said crews left the scene this afternoon.
A fire investigation is ongoing and at this stage the cause is not believed to be deliberate.
