One person needed to be treated for the effects of smoke after a house fire in York today (Saturday).
Crews from York and Acomb went to reports of a fire inside a property on Kingsway North at 12.35pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located the fire on the ground floor. All persons out on arrival of fire service crews, one person administered oxygen for smoke inhalation.

“Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Crews then ventilated the building to clear smoke logging. Advice given.”
Later at 2.38pm, York and Acomb firefighters went to a garden fire in Pembroke Street, York.
They put it out before it spread to the house.
