One person cut free after two car crash in North Yorkshire village

One person had to be cut free after a two car crash in Ryedale last night (Sunday).

Emergency services were called to the collision, on the B1257 at Slingsby at its junction with Castle Howard, at 8.47pm.

Malton and Helmsley firefighters were sent to the scene.

Where the crash happened

They found one person trapped inside a wrecked vehicle.

Using tools to remove the door, they released the casualty who was left in the care of paramedics and taken to hospital via ambulance.

Firefighters then made the scene safe.

The road was closed while the incident was dealt with. It has now reopened.
