North Yorkshire attraction announces return of axe throwing championship

Take aim at the coveted title of North Yorkshire’s Axe Throwing Champion – as the action-packed competition returns for its second year.

After a successful debut event last year, the North Yorkshire Water Park have announced the return of its North Yorkshire Axe Throwing Championship, taking place on Saturday 15 November.

Building on last year’s momentum, the championship is back and ready to test the skill and precision of throwers from across the region.

Partnering once again with Valhalla North, the competition welcomes participants of all abilities, from first-time throwers to seasoned pros.

The event will kick off with registration at 11am, followed by an exciting day of competition. Each participant is guaranteed a minimum of six games, ensuring plenty of opportunities to perfect their throws and climb the leaderboard.

Three titles are up for grabs including Under 18s Champion, Novice Champion and Expert Champion, so there’s plenty to play for. The competition is open to anyone aged 12 years and over, with entry priced at £35 per person.

To top off the day, competitors can look forward to a well-earned pie and pea supper at the North Yorkshire Water Park café, where they can relax and unwind after the event.

Gareth Davies, general manager at North Yorkshire Water Park, said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting the Axe Throwing Championship at North Yorkshire Water Park for another year.

“Following such a successful championship in 2024, this year’s event is set to be even better, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to enjoy a remarkable day.”
