Night-light Theatre are asking you to Say Something!

A powerful new community research initiative, Say Something Project, is inviting adults across York and North Yorkshire to share their experiences of childhood bereavement in a bid to reshape how society understands and supports young people facing loss.

Led by Night-Light Theatre in collaboration with York Bereavement Alliance, and supported by York St John University and a network of professionals, the project is funded by Two Ridings Community Foundation. At its core is a simple but urgent message: every story of loss matters.

The project is calling on adults aged 18 and over who experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or carer before the age of 16 to take part in its first phase by completing an online questionnaire. The insights gathered will directly inform the creation of a short film aimed at raising awareness and challenging the silence that often surrounds childhood bereavement.

Laura spoke with Sarah Rumfitt from the team at Night-light to find out more...
