A brand new spa and restaurant has opened at The Grand in York.
Following a £2.8 million refurbishment, the luxury hotel has opened the doors to its SubRosa spa.
The new spa exists beneath The Grand, and offers guests a unique wellness offering, inspired by experiences from all around the world.

SubRosa uses rituals inspired by Moroccan traditions, offers massages and facials and is the first spa in the North of England to launch experiences by bio-tech brand, SeaBody, which use advanced marine bioactive treatments to restore the skin.
The all-new facilities include a Tirol hot sauna, Himalayan salt sauna, a Salt and Light Therapy room, herbal steam room, herbal lounge, a state-of-the-art large hydrotherapy pool, foot spas, a relaxation room and more.
Emma Sorby, spa director at The Grand said, “After a six-month refurbishment, we are delighted to now be open.
“SubRosa doesn’t just offer spa treatments, it delivers thoughtfully curated wellness experiences for each guest, across mind and body, blending globally respected traditions with scientifically advanced products.
“We can’t wait for guests from near and far to come to relax away from the pressures of everyday life.”
The Grand has also unveiled a new SubRosa restaurant with dishes inspired by Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai and Korean cuisine.
Executive head chef Kevin Bonello has crafted a selection of sharing small plates and large plates from chicken Katsu and Shoyu pork belly ramen to tempura tiger prawns and vegetable bao buns.
Adam Dyke, general manager of The Grand, York, said: “SubRosa is an incredibly exciting new chapter of The Grand’s story.
“The significant investment has delivered a spa unlike anywhere else in the city. We are excited to elevate the experience of guests as they try the state-of-art facilities alongside an exceptional Asian-inspired menu in SubRosa’s new restaurant.”
