Man to appear at York court charged with arson and assault after surgery fire

A man has been charged with four offences following the incident at a doctors’ surgery.

YorkMix reported on Tuesday that the Ampleforth Surgery had been set on fire and a member of staff assaulted.

North Yorkshire Police said that a man had been arrested.

Today, the police said the man has been charged with four offences:

  1. Arson with intent to endanger life
  2. Assault causing actual bodily harm
  3. Affray
  4. Possession of a knife.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at York Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday).
