A man was taken to hospital following a house fire in York.
Fire crews from York and Acomb were called to reports of a house on fire in Hope Street, off Walmgate, at 8.06am yesterday (Thursday).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
“The cause was deliberate and the incident is now being dealt with by the police.”
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A man in his 20s was taken to hospital for treatment.
“An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the fire.”
