A man was rescued from the river in York late last night (Thursday).
Emergency services were called to the River Foss off Tower Street at 11.37pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Acomb assisted paramedics on scene with reports of a male that had entered the River Foss.
“The male was brought to safety using a nine metre ladder after he had climbed onto a ledge below.
“The casualty was left in care of paramedics.”
