Police are investigating an altercation and assault near a Haxby bar.
It happened close to Quinn’s wine bar and Sainsbury’s car park on The Village at about 8.30pm on Saturday (17 August).
The incident involved a man aged in his 60s and a woman in her 20s.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the assault.
“In particular, we are appealing to a man and woman who shouted across to the couple at the time,” a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
A man has been arrested in relation to the allegation and was released on bail conditions whilst enquiries into the assault continue.
