It’s the age-old question. Which came first, the chicken or the Eggborough police?
A chicken was handed in to officers at Eggborough Police Station on Saturday evening.
“A bit of an odd request, has anyone lost a chicken?” police posted on Facebook.
Green Acres, Eggborough
“A chicken has just been handed into Eggborough Police Station after it was found playing chicken on Green Acres!
“Luckily the chicken won and is safe and well.
“If this is your chicken please can you attend Eggborough Police Station to collect it.”
On Sunday morning they gave this update: “Breaking news: Eggborough Police crack the case of a runaway chicken. Suspect was found loitering in the road, taken into custody, and later released on bail (of straw).
“Eggborough officers report their latest guest was ‘no trouble at all’ – though it did demand free-range rights and extra corn.”
