North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has contained the fire but maintain a significant presence in the area.
Flare-ups will continue for some time as the peat continues to burn under the surface, creating surface hotspots.
Smoke is likely to continue to be an issue for the next few weeks.
The 30mph restriction remains in place on sections of the A171 and B1416 but they have reduced the length of it to minimise disruption.

It’s vital that people stick to the speed limit and do not overtake as the fire is still ongoing and emergency services are still working in the area. There may also be smoke reducing visibility, mud on the road from the ongoing work and sweepers operating.
The council says: “Lay-bys will be closed, please keep moving and do not stop to look at the fire. Police are carrying out patrols in the area. We will remove the restriction as soon as it is safe to do so. Thank you for your patience.”
The Falling Foss and May Beck car parks in Sneaton Forest remain closed. Minor roads that lead directly into the moors will remain shut until further notice.

Open access to Fylingdales Moor has been suspended for a period of three months.
