Two men have been arrested after a man was stabbed with a knife near Ripon.
It happened around 11.39pm last night (Thursday 4 December) in the village of Melmerby.
The victim who’s in his 40’s is in hospital with a neck injury.
The men are aged in their 40s and 50s and remain in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
It is believed all parties involved are known to each other.
Anyone who was in the village late on Thursday evening and witnessed a disturbance outside of the George and Dragon Inn is asked to get in touch with officers
Police said: “We will remain in the village as they carry out their investigation, please do approach them if you have any information.”
