Police have seized an illegal e-scooter in York.
Officers acted after seeing the scooter used in Derwenthorpe.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Today, officers from the local policing team seized an illegal e‑scooter being ridden in breach of road traffic legislation.
“E‑scooters may look fun and convenient, but privately owned models cannot be used on public roads, footpaths, or cycle lanes. Doing so risks serious injury to the rider and others — and can result in the vehicle being seized.
“We’ll continue to take action to keep our communities safe. If you own an e‑scooter, please make sure you know the law before using it.”
