A horse has been injured in a shooting near York.
The animal was in a field off the A19 at Deighton when it was shot, leaving ball bearings in its neck.
It happened some time between Wednesday 3 and Saturday 6 September.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for information from members of the public, particularly if you saw any vehicles or people that may have been out shooting between those dates.”
