Hollywood superstar dines in York – and is a ‘total delight’

York played host to a Hollywood action man of the highest order last night (Friday).

Jason Momoa, star of DC superhero movie Aquaman, went for a tour in York and was spotted on Shambles.

Then he dined at award-winning restaurant The Whippet Inn on North Street.

Jason, also known for his starring roles in A Minecraft Movie and The Wrecking Crew, thoroughly enjoyed his visit.

Owner of The Whippet Inn, Martin Bridge said: “We’ve been lucky to welcome many a famous person at the whippet, but I do have to say that Jason, Adria Arjona and the rest of their party were just a total delight to look after, no airs and graces…just lots of beef and beer.

“They also involved themselves in a couple of interviews for potential new staff, which was just comedy gold.”

The Whippet Inn posted this on Facebook: “Just had quite possibly the nicest table of guests in so far this year. Polite, engaging, remembered all the staff names. Always a pleasure to showcase the Whippet to lovely guests.

“It was made even better that one of them was this big guy, not the the one that looks like Greg Davies – the other one – that’s actually THE Jason Momoa.”

YorkMix understands Jason wasn’t the only famous face in York last night.

The Arsenal squad were said to be staying at the Malmaison hotel on Rougier Street.

The senior squad are due to play Leeds United at Elland Road at 3pm today, while the Under 21s are playing Leeds at the LNER Community Stadium in York tomorrow.
