Head-on collision leaves wreckage strewn across a road near York

This was the scene on a road near York after a head-on crash yesterday (Saturday).

Remarkably, no one was seriously hurt in the collision on Holtby Lane at about 3.15pm.

Sgt Paul Cording of North Yorkshire Police attending the crash, and Tweeted: “Amazingly the occupants of the grey Hyundai suffered only minor injuries.

“The driver of the red Fiesta was taken to hospital with serious but non life threatening leg injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing and wishing all occupants a swift recovery.”

Fire crews from York and Huntington helped paramedics move a casualty and made the scene safe.
