Ripon Grammar School has been closed to pupils and staff this Monday (16 March) after a gas leak was discovered.
Parents and guardians have been told they will get an update about the rest of the week later on.
The deputy headteacher said that they would not be able to provide remote learning for Monday but should the closure be extended then they will look at that again.
The school said on Facebook: “Due to a gas leak, school will be closed tomorrow (Monday, March 16).
“The site is closed to all staff and students until further notice. An update will follow tomorrow once more information is available.
“Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
One woman replied: “My grandkids got a text. They are over the moon lol.”
