A free family festival is returning to the Groves for spring bank holiday weekend.
The Groves Association is hosting the second Groves Spring Festival from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 May 2026, following the successful inaugural festival last year.
This year’s festival will feature 14 fun and free events spread over the bank holiday weekend for all ages to enjoy – from outdoor arts activities to a ceilidh; a local band night to a storytelling walk exploring local history.
There’s also a secret garden fair, a craft market and a teddy bear hunt.
Festival organiser, Tim Brooks, said, “This festival is building on the huge success of last year and we are all very excited about how it is growing and developing, with a range of new of activities such as the Hut art project and the Saturday choir concert, celebrating local vocal groups.
“The festival explores ways to bring local residents, community organisations and businesses together in an atmosphere of fun and mutual support.
“Everyone has been brilliant working together and we are very grateful for the support from Guildhall ward funding, Portakabin, Morrisons, Spar, local donations and, of course, the volunteers – all helping to make this possible.”
All events are free but booked tickets are needed for the Band Night, Choir Concert, Storytelling Walk and Ceilidh to ensure entry.
