A note has been pinned to a York bridge by someone trying to find their potential soul mate.
The writer has abandoned modern dating apps like Tinder to go back to an altogether more old fashioned way of finding a partner.
The note, written in black capitals on an A4 sheet of paper in a plastic pocket, has been attached to Lendal Bridge.
It says: “To the lady on the bridge Christmas morning. I should have got your number. Please contact me.”
And the writer’s phone number is added at the bottom.

We have blurred the number because sharing it on our pages could lead to all sorts of unwelcome messages. But if you are the person, please get in touch via [email protected] and we’ll pass it on.
The story has led to a lot of interest, with people stopping to read it on the bridge.
Online, one commenter said: “Awww I hope they find their lady.” Another added: “Love this, hope he finds her.”
But another struck a more mournful note. “Life is full of seasonal regrets. Ah well.”
