Firefighters tackle Selby garden blaze with ten trees and fence on fire

Several people called North Yorkshire Fire Control last night (Tuesday) to report a garden on fire in Brayton, Selby.

Town firefighters went to the incident at 6.59pm.

They found about ten conifer trees and a garden fence on fire.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The crew also identified a gas leak from a pipe leading to a garage.

“The crew extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet, thermal imaging camera and small tools. The gas leak was left in the hands of a gas engineer.”
