A garden building caught fire in Malton early today (New Year’s Day).
Firefighters were called to Cherry Avenue at 12.22am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Malton responded to a small building measuring 3 by 5 metres well alight and containing garden products and furniture.

“Crews wearing breathing apparatus for comfort extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet. After crews dampened down hotspots, advice was given to the owners of building.”
