Firefighters and RSPCA officers teamed up to save a duckling in distress.
The duckling was stuck in a surface water drain on Drome Road, Copmanthorpe.
An RSPCA inspector called the fire brigade for help at 6.03pm last night (Monday).
A crew from Acomb responded to the call and managed to rescue the little fellow by using chimney rods.
