The Met Office has updated its AMBER heat alert for Monday and Tuesday.
It covers places like Southampton, Oxford, Brighton, London, Birmingham and as far north as the Yorkshire border.
Currently temperatures in York on Tuesday are predicted to reach 32c.
Central London is expected to record around 38c.
When the Met Officer issues heat alerts it says: “More people are likely to visit coastal areas, lakes and rivers leading to an increased risk of water safety incidents.
“Adverse health effects are likely to be experienced by those vulnerable to extreme heat.
“The wider population is likely to experience some issues including sunburn or heat exhaustion (dehydration, nausea, fatigue).
“Some delays to road, rail and air travel are possible, with potential for welfare issues for those who experience prolonged delays.”
Although North and East Yorkshire is not currently covered by the alert we can expect the hot weather to continue with highs of 28c in the Western Dales and the Yorkshire Coast.
Inland 32c is the predicted high with lots of sunshine and warm nights too. This is now expected to last all week.
