Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal road traffic collision which happened on Friday 19 June 2026 on the A19, just north of Chapel Haddlesey.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:50pm and involved a black Honda motorcycle and a red Vauxhall Corsa.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 34-year-old man from the Selby area, was taken to hospital. Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was later pronounced deceased. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, an 18-year-old man is helping officers with their enquiries.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a red Seat Ibiza, which is believed to have been travelling directly behind the Corsa at the time of the collision. This driver may hold vital information that could assist with the investigation.
We are also urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident, to come forward.
