Several fire crews were called out to Knaresborough after reports of a person in the river.
Firefighters from Knaresborough and Harrogate, alongside specialist water rescue units from Ripon, Richmond and Selby, went to the incident at 6.13pm last night (Christmas Eve).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The casualty was out of the river, as crews got to the scene, and was in the care of the ambulance service.”
