Firefighters called in to help after horse falls on the ice near York

Firefighters have been called in to help rescue a fallen horse.

They were called to Crockey Hill at 4pm today (Thursday).

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York and an animal rescue unit from Tadcaster responded to a horse that had fallen on ice and was unable to get back to its feet.

“This incident remains ongoing.”
