Firefighters were called to a York nature reserve last night (Saturday).
They went to the incident at St Nicks at 6.59pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “York crews attended a fire in the woods involving large pile of sticks and twigs.
“This was believed to have been caused deliberately. Crews used backpack sprayers.”
