Firefighters were called to an incident in Acomb early this morning (Sunday).
A crew went to Low Poppleton Lane at 4.29am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “An Acomb crew extinguished a small grass fire measuring 1m x 1m using knapsack sprayers.
“The cause of the fire was deliberate.”
