Fire service issues incident warning over North Yorkshire blaze

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service have issued an incident warning over a blaze in the county.

A spokesperson said: “Our crews are currently dealing with an incident at Downholme Moor near Catterick Garrison training facilities.

“It involves a fire in a plantation on moorland.

Downholme, North Yorkshire

“We have a number of crews attending as well as use of our argocat, three hosereel jets and two leaf blowers.

“We are asking the public to keep away from the area at this time.”

They were alerted to the fire at 2.43pm.
