Two crews went to a fire in a York home early this morning (Saturday).
Crews from Acomb and York responded to a report of a fire to a fireplace on Constantine Avenue at 4.59am.
It was sending smoke into the building.

“On arrival the crews found a fire to a wooden lintel which had been caused by radiated heat from the coal fire.
“Crews used small tools to remove the lintel and gave advice to the occupiers.”
