Emergency services called as car crashes into a tree in York

A car crashed into a tree on a busy York street this morning (Tuesday).

Emergency services were called to the collision on Water Lane at 9.58am.

The car had two people inside.

Two fire crews, from York and Acomb, went to the scene.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used bolt croppers, a ratchet strap, immediate emergency care kit and the vehicle winch and made the scene safe.”

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “We received an emergency call at 9.47am on Tuesday morning to report a road traffic collision on Water Lane in York.

“An ambulance and a team leader were dispatched to the scene and two patients were conveyed to York Hospital.”
