Emergency services were called to a crash in a North Yorkshire village early today (Saturday).
A car left the road and crashed into a tree on Byland Road, Coxwold at 2.52am.
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was trapped in the wreckage

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Fire crews from Helmsley and Easingwold used e-draulic cutters and spreaders to remove the driver’s door allowing the person to self extricate.
“The person was taken to hospital by road ambulance for precautionary checks.”
