Driver taken to hospital after van crashes into ditch on A64

Emergency services were called out after a van crashed into a ditch in North Yorkshire yesterday (Tuesday).

It happened on the A64 near Tadcaster at 12.31pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Both crews from Tadcaster and Selby responded to a van which had driven into a ditch off a main road.

“The driver was out prior to fire crews arrival. Initial first aid was given to the driver by our crews while the vehicle was isolated.

“The fuel spill was also contained using an environmental pack.

“The incident was left with police and the driver was taken to hospital by their partner for precautionary reasons.”
