Dog and owner rescued from mud in York

A dog and its owner were rescued from a muddy riverbank in York today (Sunday).

Firefighters were called to the incident on Rawcliffe Ings at 2.33pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from York and Acomb responded to a mud rescue incident where one member of the public and their dog had become trapped on the riverbank.

“Throwlines used to rescue them and confirmed no injuries to either party.”
