A crew from Harrogate responded to reports of grass on fire in a public area of Fewston last night, 26th June.
On arrival, crews found a disposable BBQ left unattended.
Crews extinguished using a bucket of water.
This comes just days after North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service warned about the dangers of using disposable BBQs, particularly in light of last year’s devastating fire on Langdale and Fylingdales Moors.
