York Theatre Royal have announced further exciting programming for 2026 – with comedy, dinosaurs, a Michelin star chef and a rock and roll legend.
The newly announced line-up features Michelin star chef Tommy Banks, who will bring his extraordinary story to stage for the first and only time on 17 July with Spinning Plates: LIVE!
Tommy Banks is the owner of Michelin-starred The Black Swan at Oldstead and Roots York, as well as The Abbey Inn, Byland.

Through live storytelling and immersive cinema, he will lift the lid on hospitality service at its most intense, revealing the pressures of leadership and what it really takes to pursue excellence.
Dinosaurs will then be taking over York Theatre Royal’s Main House stage on 18 July for Dinosaur Adventure Live : Danger on T-Rex Mountain – an interactive stage show which immerses audiences in the enthralling and realistic world of dinosaurs.
Join the intrepid rangers on a quest to recover the data crystal, restore power to the island and save the Dinosaurs!
York Theatre Royal also have the perfect show for music lovers this autumn with Wilko: Love And Death And Rock ‘N’ Roll (10-12 September). This is a play with live music about the extraordinary story of Wilko Johnson: rock ‘n’ roll icon and founder of the legendary band Dr Feelgood.
Direct from the Leicester Square Theatre in London’s West End and before that, from the Southwark Playhouse, following critical and audience acclaim in its initial run at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch in 2024.

Award-winning comedian Seann Walsh will also be back at York Theatre Royal on 6 November with his new show This Is Torture – a brand-new hour of side-splitting observational comedy as part of a major UK-wide tour.
