Cyclists in North Yorkshire pedal on through the heat

Cyclists are battling the challenges of the heatwave and continuing with a 200-mile ride to support children in care.

The group who name themselves, Biking for Children in Care, set off from Lincoln Cathedral on Friday, 26th June. They will arrive at York Minster on Sunday, 28th June.

They are raising money for a charity that wants a better care system for young people, called Become.

Research by Become shows the number of children in care in Lincolnshire stands at 805, which is an increase of 18% in five years.

Almost half of them are living more than 20 miles away from their friends, family and school, the charity added.
