Firefighters were called to an incident in York last night (Sunday).
They responded to an alarm sounding and smell of smoke at a property on Bishopthorpe Road at 5.49pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival crews could see no fire but could confirm the smell of smoke.

“After investigation using a thermal imaging camera and a full inspection of the property crews confirmed one small fire located in a kitchen with the cause being a fault to a toaster.
“The property was ventilated and advice was given.”
