Firefighters were called to an incident in York yesterday (Sunday).
A York crew responded to a fire alarm at a home on Wood Street, Heworth at 4.56pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The alarm had been activated due to a piece of wood left on the cooker hob.

“The fire to the wood was out on their arrival.
“The fire crew carried out a safe and well procedure with the occupant.”
