Two crews were called out to a fire in a York home early this morning (Wednesday).
York and Acomb firefighters responded to a minor kitchen fire on Eboracum Way at 2.19am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire was caused by some newspaper left on top of a hob by mistake.
“The fire was out on arrival of crews. Damage was caused to the newspaper only.”
