There’s a police incident on a York bridge tonight (Friday).
Scarborough Bridge is sealed off at both ends.
Police officers are stationed at the steps to the bridge on either side, directing people back to Lendal Bridge if they need to cross the River Ouse.

Firefighters and paramedics are also stationed on both sides of the water.
A team from York Rescue Boat is on standby.
There’s believed to be a person on the wrong side of the bridge.
Rail services that use Scarborough Bridge have been cancelled.
TransPennine Express posted on X at 7.42pm: “Due to trespassers on the railway between Scarborough and York all lines are blocked.
“Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Disruption is expected until 21:00.”
The train company then added: “To help you complete your journey, rail replacement transport has been requested to run between Malton and York and between Scarborough and York.
“Please see station information posters for the location of rail replacement pick up points and be advised that journey times.”
The cycle and footpaths remain open on both sides of the river.
