Updated: York bridge reopens after collision

A York bridge was closed by a collision this evening (Tuesday).

Emergency services went to the scene on Ouse Bridge at about 8pm.

They were treating a casualty in the carriageway.

Two cars and a bus had stopped and were showing their hazard lights.

At 8.27pm, North Yorkshire Police said: “We’re currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Ouse Bridge in York.

“It’s currently closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.”

Shortly after 9pm the bridge reopened.
