A multi-agency operation rescued a person who fell down a cliff in Filey late last night (Friday).
Police, fire, ambulances and the coastguard were called to the incident at Primrose Valley at 11pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Fire crews assisted coastguard with setting up line rescue equipment prior to the coastguards helicopters arrival to see if they could also assist.

“However, the helicopter winch was not possible due downwash from the rotary blades proving unsafe.
“Crews then used the line rescue equipment which had already been set up to access the casualty and winch them to safety on a stretcher.
“The casualty was taken to hospital for injuries not believed life threatening.”
