Child dislocates knee at community event in York

A child was hurt at a community event in York today (Friday).

It happened off Elmpark Way, Heworth, which is home to a cricket, hockey and rugby league club.

Both firefighters and paramedics were involved.

The incident happened at 1.25pm. A fire crew from Huntington who were at the event were on hand to help.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Huntington at a community event were made aware of an eight-year-old child who had dislocated their knee.

“The crew administered oxygen therapy until the arrival of ambulance crews.”
