A celebrity chef could be seen at a shopping centre in York today.
Ainsley Harriott visited Cooplands Bakery at Monks Cross this afternoon (Tuesday), to meet customers and celebrate the launch of his new spicy summer collaboration with the popular bakery.
Known for hosting TV shows such as Ready Steady Cook, Ainsley has spent time in Cooplands’ development kitchen with new product development manager Emily Anderson to create products inspired by cuisines from around the world.
The collab is part of the bakery’s wider summer range, and the four new items are a Jerk Chicken Pizza, New Yorker Sandwich, Mexican Chilli Pasty, and Chilli Brownie.
And to mark the launch, Ainsley has been visiting selected Cooplands bakeries to meet with the hungry customers who will try the new products for the first time – which included York.
Tomorrow, the tour continues, with Ainsley visiting the company’s Scarborough Westborough shop on Wednesday 10 June from 10am till 12pm.
