A flood warning for York remains in place and there are six flood alerts in North Yorkshire as the rain keeps coming.
The warning is for riverside properties from Lendal Bridge to Millennium Bridge.
The Environment Agency said: “Levels are expected to continue falling slowly however there is further rain in the forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation, closing floodgates and operating the Foss Barrier.”
A car that was widely seen apparently stuck in the water yesterday (Monday) was later removed.
The Range Rover was half in the car park next to the Queen’s Hotel on Queen’s Staith. It was removed after a few hours.
Here are the flood alerts for North Yorkshire this morning:
- Lower River Derwent
- Lower River Don catchment
- River Foulness and Market Weighton catchment
- River Went catchment
- Upper River Derwent
- Upper River Ouse
It is forecast to rain for the rest of the week, although Saturday looks sunny as things stand.
