A car was engulfed in flames in the A1M in North Yorkshire today (Thursday).
It happened at about 2.30pm on the southbound carriageway between junction 51 (Leeming Bar) and Junciton 52 (Catterick).
Firefighters from Northallerton, Ripon and Richmond went to the incident.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located the vehicle on the hard shoulder, well alight.
“Crews extinguished the fire and dampened down. The fire resulted in 100% fire damage to the car.
“The incident was left with the police and highways.”
