A man has been arrested after a car crashed into a York level crossing.
It happened on the rail line near Poppleton at lunchtime today (Tuesday).
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said that a 27-year-old has been detained on suspicion of motoring and public order offences after the vehicle failed to stop for officers on the A59.

The man remains in police custody.
The incident came after reports of the police helicopter circling over Upper Poppleton.
